PLANNING A WEDDING

A friend of mine has a daughter who has recently become engaged. It so happened that he approached me the other day, and asked me how does one go about planning for a wedding? I was kinda taken aback; never having been involved in the actual planning of a wedding, so why ask me. Being a man I had always imagined that if and when I got engaged to be married I would have little to worry about in the way of wedding plans and things of that nature, and so it turned out when I got married. I was fortunate enough to marry a woman who was very organized, and who had had experience with this sort of thing before. However, it appears that men are now caring more about wedding plans. The wedding plans have also turned into a family affair with siblings and parents lending a hand. So it got me thinking.

It occurs to me that wedding plans are similar to that of a business venture; in what way you may ask? Well, there is usually a partner involved, then there is an initial expense outlay, followed by commitment, and last but not least, the most important part of the deal is to have success on the day and for the future. It also seems likely some couples will spend much more than others, and also that the recession is probably denting the depth and breath of wedding plans for many of the five million people that will likely be seeking wedded bliss this year. The economic downturn has many couples looking at scaling back their wedding plans.

How about you? Are you, or someone in your family, getting married soon? How are things coming with your wedding plans? Wedding plans are one of the crucial aspects in a wedding; without them, a wedding day could turn out to be a disorganized nightmare. If you are getting the feeling that things are getting out of control, then you need to start making wedding plans of your own. Probably the best way to take control is to sit down, take a deep breath, take maybe a pencil and paper, or a blank sheet on the computer, and begin planning for your wedding. Or go online a search for a Wedding Planner.

Now just what is a wedding planner. A wedding planner is something that will help you make sure that you start soon enough to have everything located in time for the big day. It will remind you of the important details that are often overlooked during the stressful days of preparing for the big day. So, in order to enjoy the time of preparing for the event with ease, and in an organized way, let a wedding planner help you make your wedding beautifully memorable. When starting your wedding plans, the first thing most people do is to brainstorm for reception ideas. In terms of wedding plans, the venue is also a key consideration. Including details like who to hire as a photographer, what sort of photos you want to see captured, in your wedding plans is that you have control in how you wish to remember your own wedding.

So when should you make wedding plans? The sooner the better! Now as anyone knows these days, make sure to involve the future husband with all wedding plans so he has the opportunity to contribute or have his say. Too often wedding plans seem to have the ability to take over your life for the length of your engagement, and too many people get overwhelmed by their wedding plans and end up spending far more money, and letting the whole thing become too complicated, far more than they needed to. Also, don’t leave everything until the last minute, as then the wedding plans, and indeed the whole wedding can become rather tense. Even after months of wedding planning, the big day will be staring you right in the face and you could be a nervous wreck.

Wedding plans need to be undertaken with a fair amount of professionalism, so it makes sense to have the help of experienced people who specialize in this type of thing. Many times, you feel confused because you do not have the basics of what it takes to undertake wedding plans. How can you get professional service and advice on wedding plans? As it happens, my friends’ question got me interested; I started looking around on the internet for some sort of planning guide, and believe me there are many!
