UK worlds first country to allow 3 parent IVF

Here is an interesting story, if you have a history of problem genes in your family, inherited diseases etc, then if you have IVF in the UK, good genes from a third parent can be introduced to correct the problems.


Seems to be a helpful innovation, though I guess there are moral issues to it, if more than a tiny % of DNA comes from another.  I hope it will be available in the US soon.

Wow, that is really fascinating!  I was wondering if the third party would be held liable as a parent for things like child support, but apparently the law won't recognize her as a parent.
