#11699 Bad Scar Pain

Posted Isla on 04 November 2013 - 07:27 AM

I don't know why, but yesterday my c-section scar was hurting really badly.  It never hurt that much during my second pregnancy; it felt almost like I was recovering again.  It scared me enough to call my doctor, but in the absence of other symptoms and given that I'm only 25 weeks, he didn't think it was anything to really be concerned with, which was a relief.  I'm still a little tender this morning but much better, thank goodness.

Posted Kasey on 04 December 2015 - 01:18 AM

My six year-old son knew that I was pregnant. After recently miscarrying, I find myself at a loss for how to explain this to him. Any suggestions or advice? Has anyone been through this before?

#12012 Tell the truth....

So how many people do we have here who do the frantic clean-up and wipe down when they get that phone call that someone will be "dropping by"? My mom just called and said she will be dropping some stuff off this afternoon...let the frantic clean-up begin!

#1513 Can you spell?

Posted flowerchild on 30 December 2012 - 12:14 PM

I am in a profession where I see many children on a daily basis.  The names given some of these children make me shake my head and wonder if the parents are literate.  I remember one named Colorada, one named MyKenzie, one named Makalaya and many others that I thought strange.  I really wanted to ask the parents, "can you spell, or did you mean to do this?"

#11520 He brings me flowers

Posted megsforreal on 28 October 2013 - 04:42 PM

My little guy is who I mean. If there are flowers anywhere he goes, he will find them and pick some and bring me a grubby, tiny bouquet. I have a whole collection of tiny vases to put his offerings in. Does anything warm a mama's heart more?

#12100 school lunches

Posted Deetta on 13 November 2013 - 11:57 AM

Has anyone attended any of the holiday lunches that some schools do where family and close friends can attend to a lunch with your child? I just got back from one and besides not giving at least adults a plastic knife to cut the meat with everything was totally bland. They did not even provide us with salt and pepper. :o

I was wondering if it was an adhesion, based on what you said. I'm glad you didn't have any further issues. I would definitely have been scared to feel that in the middle of a pregnancy. And congratulations on your VBAC!

My daughter was on a preemie formula until her checkup today. Now the doctor wants to switch her to Gerber Good Start. Who else here used this formula? What are your thoughts on it?

#11937 persistent - good or bad?

Posted Deetta on 11 November 2013 - 09:22 AM

We went out to dinner last night as a family get together and the food was great. The problem was the waiter. I mean I like it when they come to check on the food but this guy would not back off. In the time it took us to order and eat he was at the table over 10 times. What is up with that?

#60377 Not interested in sippy cup

Posted Nicky on 01 December 2015 - 07:51 PM

I have a one year old who's currently showing zero interest in switching from a bottle to a sippy cup. She has teeth coming in now so I know it's time to make the switch. How am I supposed to do this when she adamantly refuses the sippy, though???

#12165 Fostering for how long?

Posted Grays-hidden on 13 November 2013 - 10:36 PM

I have never fostered myself but I am curious about it. How long do you normally foster a child for? Can you start for a short time span and then ask for an extension if you want to foster a child longer?

#12144 When Do You Put Up Your Christmas Tree?

Posted Aimee on 13 November 2013 - 07:56 PM

We have always put our Christmas tree up the weekend of Thanksgiving and taken it down New Year's Day.  My neighbor put her tree up the day after Halloween.  She also has her outside decorations up and lit each night.  What about you?  When do you decorate for Christmas?

#10059 Skin is so dry

Posted SarahJ on 18 September 2013 - 10:08 AM

I am allergic to a lot of the lotions and the ones that are okay for my skin are so expensive. My skin gets extremely dry, especially in the winter. What is something homeopathic I can put on my skin? My hands are the worst and they get cracked really bad.

#28217 Surrogate mother and contracts

Posted Cassie on 18 September 2014 - 09:04 AM

I was watching a show this past week where a surrogate mother had a contract with a cause that stated something similar to if the fetus is considered "bad" (paraphrasing here, but due to a possible, unconclusive test) the surrogate mother should be subjected to abortion. Does this really happen or does it only happen on the shows?
